The Transit Chart
As with all the factors of life, nothing exists in a vacuum. For this same reason our natal chart just sets us in motion to experience a version of the life dance. As in the fairy tale of little miss Muppet – along came a spider and sat down beside her… And that changed everything. There will be spiders that cross our paths on various occasions and where you thought you were headed is no longer as relevant. This can be seen as the action of life encountering our natal trajectory. Even the best laid plans of mice and woodchucks… That static natal signature will always be with you, but as the planets do not stay fixed in place and continue to revolve around the Sun things change.
Who are these planetary characters and what do they have to do with me living my life as I see fit? Free will is always attempting to raise itself to the top in egoic fashion. It can work for a while until pressure patterns arise, we can’t ignore beyond a level of cost we can’t afford. I am not just referring to money here.
There are the personal planets that play very close to us all the time. These would be Mercury (how we think), Venus (a version of how we interact with one another), and Mars (a driven energy to do things). As they revolve around the Sun and Earth their energy signature interacts with different signs and houses bringing up conversations unique to each other as well as to how your natal configuration has them tuning into specific life factors for your world. Mercury and Venus never move too far away from where the Sun’s position is. The Sun representing vitality and yours in particular, brings up things as by transit it shifts from sign to sign in the annual dance. You have a particular way of utilizing your natal signatures that can be tweaked as the ongoing planetary story unfolds. An example: your Mercury happily organizes your thoughts to facilitate appropriate conversations with others usually. When 3-times a year it goes into its retrograde cycle for about 3 weeks, and just for example happens to be in a 90° square aspect to your natal position, that greatly organized version of your thinking is suddenly befuddled as words slip out unexpectedly or “where did that thought come from?”
I generally try to contain any transit consideration to the year ahead and doing this around your birthday is a great time to look at your “Solar Return Chart” (Sun returns to birth degree) Happy Birthday. This chart sets up a pattern for the upcoming year to blend with your natal signature. There are times when some of the longer-range transiting aspects of the outer planets (from Jupiter out) catch my attention, and I must look farther down the road to mention in the transit report.
If I have not done your chart before, I must settle in to how the life dance you are on might play with the ongoing planetary movement configurations. I can attempt to include a printed-out transit report for the period we consider. Detail limited.
